Today, February 27, in the morning program of Sitel Television "I love Macedonia", on the topic of the upcoming Women's Leadership Forum organized by the University of Tourism and Management, Prof. PhD. Valentina Mucunska Palevska, associate professor at the University and one of the panelists at the Forum. Under the motto "Women write history", on the occasion of International Women's Day, this one-day event will be held on March 6, 2023, starting at 11:00 a.m., in the premises of the University.
As a guest, Professor Mucunska emphasized that the place of women in society is a particularly current topic in the last decade in the world. She emphasized that gender equality and equal opportunities for all are a strategic approach of the United Nations and the European Union and an integral part of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development of the United Nations, hence the particular relevance of these issues in society at a global level. Referring to the state of the status of women in Macedonia, Professor Mutsunska stated that the official statistics speak of a step forward in the last decade, but that stereotyped attitudes such as that the key positions in society are primarily for men still prevail.
"Leadership is a process, the leader subtly and sophisticatedly influences the collective or the community, empathetically creates synergy between stakeholders in society. All these qualities can be recognized in a woman, both due to genetics and due to predispositions that originate from her role in the family and in society. "She has a different approach to seeing things, which gives her a special advantage to be a real leader," said Professor Mutsunska. At the Forum, the invited panellists, prominent leaders in all spheres of public and social life, will share their experiences and success stories with the guests present. At the six organized panels, they will discuss women and their role in diplomacy and international relations, women as drivers of business, women in education, women in the media and women as leaders in culture and art. Among the confirmed panellists are ambassadors of friendly countries in our country. We are expecting you!
