"The name Skopje means a lot to me. I was born here, this is my Skopje and I am not giving it to anyone. Just as I call our common homeland my Macedonia, tonight I will celebrate it here with you!" said Prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski, rector of the "University of Skopje", explaining the motives for the new name of the former University of Tourism and Management, at the celebration organized by this institution on the occasion of September 27, World Tourism Day.

"Today here we celebrate not only the beauty and diversity of the world here, but also the opportunities that tourism brings to our lives", with these words the dean of the Faculty of Tourism at the University of Skopje, prof. PhD. Sashko Gramatnikovski, greeted those present at the celebration on the plateau in front of the University building.

As a member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the "University of Skopje" shared with the public everything that its team did in an extraordinarily short period of time. In a time of digitization and a surge of available information, this higher education institution has started a new project to bring the written word back into focus for future generations.

"A goal without a plan is just a wish, but if the wish and the plan align, we can have long-term success!" I always believe in myself and my strengths, but also in my colleagues and teamwork. I'm not afraid of learning and new things, I'm not afraid of challenges! That's how I accepted Rector Milenkovski's challenge to create together the Tourism and Management Magazine published by the University of Skopje!" said Biljana Trendafilova, MA, editor-in-chief of the magazine, which was promoted at the celebration. The magazine for tourism and management published by the University conveys successful life stories, which are an example, an inspiration and an incentive for a more responsible and active attitude towards society.

"University of Skopje", a leader in higher education in Macedonia, received international recognition last month as the best university in business education, for its significant influence on shaping the next generation of business leaders. On that occasion, the rector prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski, was awarded the title "Ambassador of Education for 2023".
