On June 6, 2023, a session of the Conference of Private Higher Education Institutions in Macedonia (KPVU) was held in the premises of the University of Skopje. At the session attended by Rectors and representatives from private higher education institutions, the current political situation in the country and their impact on enrollments in higher education institutions was discussed. Special emphasis was placed on the problem of the mass outflow of the young population, which will have a long-term negative impact on all spheres of society, as well as on the need to facilitate the access of foreign students to Macedonian higher education. For those reasons, a proactive attitude of the private higher education institutions towards this problem was agreed upon, for which concrete steps and activities will be proposed already at the next session.
In the name of all members of KPVU, the new president of the Conference, prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski thanked the current president Prof. PhD. Tome Nenovski for his selfless commitment and contribution to positioning KPVU as an active academic actor, as well as for spreading the mission for which KPVU was founded.
The conference of private higher education institutions in the Republic of N. Macedonia (KPVU) was established in 2019 as a body for the development of mutual cooperation in the field of higher education and research work, in accordance with the common goals and interests of private higher education institutions in the Republic of N. Macedonia.
