Today, December 12, 2022, the final event of the "European Skopje" event was held in the premises of the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje, organized by the Directorate for Culture and Art of the city. The event is being held for the fifth jubilee year in a row, and this year its main supporter was the University of Tourism and Management.
At the event, the best in the competitive activities organized within its framework were declared, and the recognitions and awards were personally presented to the best by the rector of the University, prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski.
Under the motto "Photograph European Skopje", the best photos from the secondary art school "Lazar Lichenovski" from Skopje were made by the first-prize high school student Mirjana Spasovska, the second-prize Anja Atanasovska and the third-prize high school student David Angjelkovic. From the other secondary schools, the first prize went to Teodora Grzodanovska, the second to Milan Krstić and the third to Adem Lević. The best presentations on the subject of My European Skopje were made by the first-prized student Ivona Zarevska, the second-prized Filip Bakoc and the third-prized Emine Mihtar and Tamara Ilievska. The activity was conducted among the students of the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje.
At the "Essay on Old Skopje" contest, the competition was great. Among the more than twenty journalistic essays received on the topic, the first prize went to the journalist Petar Dogov from Telma TV, the second went to Boris Gruevski from Alfa Television, and the third prize went to Alexandra Filipovska, a journalist from the publishing house Three.
In the appropriate welcoming speech after the presentation of the awards, Rector Milenkovski emphasized that the University is always there where it is necessary and crucial to support culture and art in the city. In that context, he awarded a Golden Plaque for the development, nurturing and protection of the cultural values of the city of Skopje to the director of the Directorate for Culture and Art of the city, Mr. Nikola Gligorov. Gligorov expressed his deep gratitude for the recognition, but above all for the support that the University provided this year for the Directorate and for its traditional events - Skopje Summer, Autumn Music Days and European Skopje Days - events that already represent recognizable permanent values of the city. He emphasized that without the University, in the absence of support from national and local institutions, this year the Directorate would not have such a successful and rich program.
At the end of the event, the rector prof. PhD Ace Milenkovski and Director Nikola Gligorov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the University and the Directorate, committing to continue cooperation in the field of culture and art. This year, thanks to the support of the University, the European Skopje Days event inspired and animated over 100 young people, who discovered and presented the cultural and linguistic wealth and traditions nurtured in the city as part of its modern European identity.
