The First Formal Academic Class was held at the University of Skopje today, marking the beginning of classes for students enrolled in the first cycle of studies in the academic year 2025-2026.

In the crowded amphitheater of the University, after the intonation of the Macedonian anthem and the student anthem Gaudeamus Igitur, the Rector of the University, Prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski, addressed the students with a fitting speech. He introduced his team – the vice-rectors, deans, professors and the administrative staff of the University and on behalf of all his associates, he warmly welcomed the new students.

In his addressing, Prof. Prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski particularly emphasized the dedication of the University's teaching staff in the implementation of quality teaching by applying the study methodology according to the credit transfer system according to the Bologna Declaration (ECTS system), emphasizing the uniqueness of UTMS as the only university in the country that consistently implements this system by applying digital technologies, which at the same time enable impartial measurability of knowledge. Prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski emphasized that students, in addition to striving to acquire competencies that will enable their professional careers, should above all be distinguished by high ethics and morality in life and work. Referring to the two pillars that are the basis of the development of every civilization – health and education – Prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski told the new academic citizens that these two values ​​should be intertwined in their daily actions because they are the future of the country.After the end of the formal academic class, students from each faculty had separate meetings with the deans, where they were informed about future activities in the academic year, the application of digital technology in the study process, curricula, teaching schedules, as well as the use of E-index, E-student and E-library.The team of the University of Skopje once again wishes its new colleagues a successful academic year!
