Today, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the European Conference for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the event under the motto "Macedonian Heritage of Networks and Connections" was held in "Porta Macedonia", on the initiative and under the auspices of the University of Skopje.
Mr. Zoran Ljutkov, Minister of Culture and Tourism, PhD. Viktorija Trajkov, Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Mr. Stefen Hudolin, Head of Cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union and Ms. Vesela had their opening speeches at the event. Chestoeva, director of the Administration for the Protection of Cultural Heritage. Numerous representatives of the academic and scientific community, as well as the public sector and the diplomatic corps from Macedonia and the European Union had their presentations at the event.
"Culture and tourism are the main promoters of Macedonia, and every Macedonian 'corner' smells of Macedonia from the Bible!", pointed out the Deputy Minister for European Affairs and assistant professor at University of Skopje , PhD. Viktoria Trajkov in her opening address.
The dean of the Faculty of Tourism at the University of Skopje, prof. PhD. Sashko Gramatnikovski."Cultural tourism encourages dialogue between nations," said Dean Gramatnikovski.
"Through tourism, visitors gain an insight into the soul of a place, and Macedonia offers a window into a part of Europe that seems untouched by time, yet deeply connected to the wider history of the continent."
And this time, the University of Skopje, as the initiator and main patron of the event, proved itself as an unwavering promoter of the Macedonian cultural heritage!
