Today at the University of Skopje, starting at 12 o'clock, a Forum for the protection of the Macedonian identity will be held. At the Forum organized in three panel discussions, the participants debated in which direction Macedonia is moving economically and politically and whether we have sufficiently protected the identity. They sent strong messages to the future authorities that should be taken urgently for the full affirmation of the Macedonian identity and state.
"The University of Skopje continuously works to preserve and affirm everything that is Macedonian", with this message Rector Milenkovski opened the Forum as a participant in the first panel dedicated to the political path of Macedonia.
"We are used to the denial of our identity by others throughout history. Today, the most frightening thing is the denial of ourselves by ourselves", emphasized the Metropolitan of Skopje and Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia and of Justiniana Prima, His Beatitude G. G. Stephen.
"As a nation and as a state, we have failed on every plan. That is why today we have the responsibility to encourage every Macedonian who believes in Macedonia, that we can do better! Let's make everything better!", Ambassador Marjan Gjorchev sent a message to all active stakeholders in the country and to each individual.
At the panel dedicated to the protection of the Macedonian language, culture and history, Dr. Elka Jacheva-Ulcar from the Institute for the Macedonian Language "Krste Misirkov" emphasized that the Macedonian language is in a very bad state today, losing the positions it already had. "It is nebulous to discuss today whether it exists or not!", said PhD. Ulcar.
Prof. PhD. Natasha Kotlar from the Institute of National History told the future authorities: "It is the institutions that should affirm the identity!"
