At the University of Skopje, today, October 2, 2023, the First Formal Academic Class was held, which marked the beginning of classes for students enrolled in the first cycle of studies in the academic year 2023-2024.
In the amphitheater of the University, the rector prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski addressed the students with a suitable speech.. He introduced his team - the vice-chancellors, deans, professors and administrative staff of the University and on behalf of all his colleagues, he wished a warm welcome to the new students.
In his address, Prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski told the students that patience is what makes a person wise and powerful, because it means self-control in any moment that is a challenge, and thus an opportunity for individual growth and development. He reminded the future academic citizens of Macedonia that every civilization from antiquity to today rests on two key pillars - education and health, embodied in the Macedonian cultural identity in the characters of Saints Clement and Naum, after whom the University's amphitheater is named. In this way, the entire academic staff of the University of Skopje is reminded daily of its primary role - to build educated and healthy future leaders of social change in Macedonia.
Rector prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski In his speech, also spoke about the study methodology that distinguishes University of Skopje, which is based on the principle of measurability of knowledge. The University of Skopje consistently implements the credit transfer system according to the Bologna Declaration (ECTS system). After the formal academic class, students from each faculty had separate meetings with the deans, where they were informed about future activities in the academic year 2023-2024, the application of digital technology in the study process, the curricula, the teaching schedule, as well as about the use of E-index, E-student and E-library.
