A high delegation from the University of Skopje, led by the Rector Prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski attended the Solemn Academy on the occasion of the celebration of the feast of the Equal Apostles "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" organized by VMRO-DPMNE.
Saints Cyril and Methodius felt their native country Macedonia as their homeland, and the Macedonians as their people. The texts from the Service of Saint Methodius also confirms this, in which it is said that he "left his family and homeland" and went to live with the "holy fathers". The holy brothers, although they came from the Eastern Church and fought at that time against trilinguals, forcing the word of God in the Slavic language, became cult figures for Rome, the seat of the Western Church.
All-Slavic educators, saints Cyril and Methodius, today in the modern world are the only persons who can be defined as a bridge between the eternal rivalry of Eastern and Western Europe. If their enlightening-Christian mission was the pillar at one end of Europe, Pope Ivan Paul II's decision to declare them co-protectors of Europe is the pillar of that bridge at the other end of Europe. Every year on May 24, their work continues to be celebrated, mostly by the Slavic peoples.
