The rector of UTMS, prof. PhD. Ace Milenkovski, late yesterday afternoon, sent a letter to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Macedonia with regret for the tragic event that shook the region that day. Eight students and a guard were killed in shootings at Vladislav Ribnikar elementary school in Belgrade, yesterday, May 3, in the afternoon. 13-year-old Kosta Kecmanovic, a student from that school, shot at them with a gun and he was later arrested. In the shootout, six more children and one teacher were wounded, one of whom is in critical condition and she is fighting for her life.
"With great regret and sadness I received the heartbreaking news of the loss of human life caused by the heinous act that rocked your country today. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims in the hope that such a tragedy will never happen again", wrote Rector Milenkovski in the letter that will be delivered today to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Macedonia.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, at yesterday's press conference, assessed the day as one of the most difficult in the recent history of the country and expressed his condolences to the families and relatives of the murdered students and the security of the school. In response to the event, Vucic proposed ten measures to the Government yesterday, among which is moving the limit for criminal liability from 14 to 12 years, with a two-year moratorium on the possession of weapons and strict control of permits.
