Today, in the premises of the Macedonian Language Institute "Krste Misirkov" in Skopje, a panel was held on the topic "Language - cultural wealth of civilizations", in which high school students from Skopje participated. The forum was held within the "Days of European Skopje" event, organized by the Directorate for Culture and Art of the city, with the support of the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje. As a socially responsible organization, by supporting this event, the University sent a message to young people to take care and nurture the language as the most precious spiritual heritage and foundation of every civilization.
30 students from secondary schools from the city performed on the podium, who presented their songs, short stories, compositions and essays about Skopje. A wealth of languages could be heard on the tribune: Macedonian, Turkish, Albanian, German, English, French, Italian and German. After the tribune, all participants had the opportunity to visit the memorial room of the founder of Macedonianism as a political project, Krste Petkov-Misirkov.
The forum was opened by PhD. Elena Jovanova-Grujovska, director of the Institute for the Macedonian Language, who expressed strong support for the project. M.Sc. Filip Belchev, employee of the Institute and mentor of the high school students who participated in the forum emphasized the importance of language as a basis for the development of civilizations, and especially as a mark of their cultural identity. Elizabeta Kuzmanovska, M.Sc., author of the project and the manifestation "Days of European Skopje", publicly promised the participants that the Directorate will make an effort to make this tribune a traditional one, with a competitive character from next year.
