Today is the International Day of Students - the reason for the existence of our University, the hope and future of our country, the vanguard of our society!
The day marks the anniversary of the Nazi attack on the University of Prague in 1939, following demonstrations against the German occupation of Czechoslovakia. The Nazis rounded up the students of the University, killed nine student leaders and sent over 1,200 of them to concentration camps, after which they closed all higher education institutions in the occupied territory. Therefore, the University of Tourism and Management is dedicating this year's International Students' Day to freedom of academic thought and access to quality education for all. It demonstrates its commitment to these two values through its academic events, where it encourages a critical but constructive contribution to the development of society, as well as with the scholarships it awards to talented students and students with difficult access to education through the "Prof. PhD. Ljube Milenkovski".
Dear students, may you have a happy day! Think critically, solve social problems creatively and be the change you want to see in your homeland!
