As the Municipality of Bitola announced on its official page on Facebook, a delegation of the city of Bat Yam from Israel, translated by the deputy mayor Uri Buskila, was on a working visit to the municipality, where they had a meeting with the mayor of Bitola, Mr. Toni Konjanovski. After the meeting, they announced that the two cities will start a twinning initiative, to the satisfaction of their residents and business communities.
The mayor of Bat Yam, Mr. Tzvika Brot, together with his deputy, Mr. Uri Buskila, as well as the mayor of Bitola, Mr. Toni Konjanoski, were guests of the First International Forum for Mayors, organized by the University of Tourism and Management Skopje at the beginning of June this year.
At the Forum itself, as well as in his exclusive interview with the University's Tourism and Management Magazine, Mr. Cvika Brot told his colleagues to see things through the eyes of the residents, because policy makers, public servants and elected officials do not know always everything. He also emphasized that the Jewish people and Israel as a country have a long history, so the preservation of history is particularly important to them.
"Let's not forget what happened in the past, preserve our diverse culture and learn from the past to develop and benefit the future," said the mayor of Bat Yam in his exclusive interview for the June issue of the University Magazine.
