On the occasion of the Women's Leadership Forum, which will be held on the eve of International Women's Day on March 6, 2023 in the amphitheater of the University of Tourism and Management from Skopje, the morning program of TV Telma was hosted by Assistant professor PhD Viktorija Trajkov, professor at the University.
In the morning conversation with the journalist, Professor Trajkov pointed out that although gender equality has been talked about loudly in the last decade, the statistics in Macedonia are devastating. She emphasized that the presence of women in politics and in the management structures of business is more symbolic than real, but expressed hope that young people will change things regarding the division of male and female professions. That there is progress in terms of gender equality, especially in urban areas, is indicated by the fact that the stereotype of women's and men's work within the home and family is slowly being overcome, as well as the data from the statistics office that the female population dominates higher education. She emphasized that, although women are mostly associated with the traditional roles they play in society, they still played an important role in many key historical moments for the country, such as, for example, in the Macedonian revival.
"Women dominate as a female population in our university as well," pointed out Assoc. Dr. Viktorija Trajkov for the home institution from which he comes and where he builds his professorial career, the University of Tourism and Management, which is also the organizer of the event.
The forum will be held on March 6, 2023, in the amphitheater of the University of Tourism and Management, starting at 11 am. Under the motto "Women write history", prominent women leaders from Macedonia and abroad, proven in education, business, media, diplomacy and art and culture, will participate in the five panels organized within the Forum.
