In the new World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Campaign to Raise Awareness of the Value of Sustainable Tourism for Economic Development - Travel, Enjoy, Respect, which affirms the importance of tourism as a catalyst for positive global change, includes the University of Tourism and Management- Skopje which is the only educational institution in the Republic of Macedonia. Macedonia, which is a member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) since 2010.
The key message of the campaign is summarized in a statement by the former Secretary General of the UNWTO, Mr. Taleb Rifai: "When you travel, wherever you travel be sure to respect nature, to respect the culture, to respect the host. You can be the change that you want to see in the world. You can be an ambassador for a better future. TRAVEL, ENJOY AND RESPECT!"
